Nicholas spent 12 formative years, from 2009 to 2021, at the children’s home. It was here that he found more than just shelter, it became the foundation upon which he built his future. Through guidance, discipline, and encouragement, he developed the resilience and determination that would shape his path in life.

His academic journey took him through Prospect Primary School and later Harare High School, where he completed his O-Levels. But Nicholas always had a passion beyond the classroom, a deep interest in mechanics. Determined to pursue it, he took a bold step and began an apprenticeship in Msasa. For two years, he worked without pay, driven purely by his desire to learn and grow.

That sacrifice paid off.

Today, Nicholas is the Founder and Director of GK Autofocus, a BMW-focused workshop based in Greendale. What started as a dream has become a thriving business, allowing him not only to support himself but also to build a family of his own.

Yet his story doesn’t end there.

Beyond engines and tools, Nicholas carries a creative spirit. While at the home, he wrote a film titled “Tozeza Baba the Movie.” Though financial limitations paused his filmmaking journey, his passion remains alive, and so does his hope of one day bringing that story to life.

Nicholas’s message to children everywhere is simple but powerful:

“Your story isn’t over yet. Keep pushing, stay focused, and trust the process. You are stronger than you think, and your best days are ahead.”

Why This Story Matters
